As our Security Officer, you will ensure that the healthcare enterprise remains a safe place. You will maintain a safe and secure environment for medical staff/employees, patients, and visitors by patrolling the premises and visitor management and observing and reporting activities and incidents at an assigned site.Our officer will preserve order and act to enforce regulations when assistance is requested by medical staff/employees and responding rapidly to security emergencies within the hospital or other healthcare settings. It is expected that the security officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core value and humandkindness. The security officer shall support CommonSpirit Health's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
Job Responsibility:

Maintain a safe and secure environment for medical staff/employees, patients, and visitors by patrolling the premises and visitor management and observing and reporting activities and incidents at an assigned site
Preserve order and act to enforce regulations when assistance is requested by medical staff/employees and responding rapidly to security emergencies within the hospital or other healthcare settings
Protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner to incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes
Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle
monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed
and report un-safe acts or conditions
Log all activities in daily log to accurately record events
and complete clear, concise, and legible reports in a timely manner
use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing the hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to the right location
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Six (6) months experience as a Security Officer involving extensive public contact
Valid AZ Driver's License
American Heart Association-issued BLS card within 60 days of hire
Nice to have:
Completion of college level education courses in Criminal Justice
One (1) year experience as a Security Officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service
Basic Health Care Security Officer (BSO)
