Job Description:

The Security Officer position at The Westin Galleria Houston involves patrol duties, monitoring security systems, handling emergency situations, observing safety hazards, resolving disturbances, and conducting investigations. The role emphasizes professionalism, confidentiality, physical fitness, and compliance with company policies.

Job Responsibility:

Patrol all areas of the property
assist guests with room access
monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and the fire life safety system
lock property entrances when required
conduct daily physical hazard inspections
respond to accidents and assist guests/employees during emergency situations
notify appropriate individuals in the event of incidents
defuse guest/employee disturbances
escort unwelcome persons from property
report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts
complete incident reports and shift summaries
conduct investigations and gather evidence
comply with company policies and procedures
maintain confidentiality of Security/Loss Prevention documents
support quality assurance standards
move and manipulate objects weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
no related work experience
no supervisory experience
ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
ability to lift objects less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
ability to run, walk, or jog to respond to work situations
ability to move through narrow or confined spaces
familiarity with conducting investigations and gathering evidence
ability to use computers or point of sale systems
ability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects
ability to bend, twist, pull, and stoop
ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
