Ayers Rock Resort is seeking a Security Officer to live and work onsite in Yulara, NT—just a 20-minute drive from Uluru, one of Australia's most iconic and culturally significant landmarks. We are seeking a professional and proactive Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, residents, and team members. You will play a key role in daily security operations, responding to incidents and supporting the resort through active patrols, monitoring, and emergency response. In this role, you will respond to a variety of situations including alarm activations, noise complaints, anti-social behavior, domestic incidents, and medical emergencies. You will work both independently and as part of a close-knit team, contributing to the safety and wellbeing of the Yulara community.
Job Responsibility
Monitor guest and resident behaviour and respond to incidents and complaints promptly and professionally
Conduct patrols (on foot and by vehicle) to ensure the safety of guests, residents, and resort infrastructure
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents in a calm and effective manner
Manage access control across designated zones, including monitoring movement of people, vehicles, and goods
Identify and report unauthorised personnel onsite
Maintain accurate records and incident reports in line with operational requirements
Utilise electronic security systems and communication equipment in daily operations
Requirements
Minimum Certificate II in Security
Current First Aid and CPR certification (valid for at least 6 months)
Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
Ability to obtain and maintain NT Security Officer and Crowd Control licences (interstate mutual recognition accepted)
Ability to obtain and maintain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
A valid full Australian Driver's Licence
Nice to have
Experience in remote or complex operating environments (e.g. mining, university, aviation, or resort settings)
Experience responding to incidents and preparing reports
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies
Qualification in drug and alcohol testing (e.g. HLTPAT010 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing)
