As our Security Officer, you will monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors. Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise. To be successful in this role, you’ll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security of employees, patients, and visitors
Patrol property by walking and driving
Guard facility and unit access points
Monitor surveillance cameras
Test new security technology
Protect employees/visitors against acts of violence
Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner
Respond to calls for assistance (violent/unruly patients/visitors, crimes, emergency codes, door openings)
Report unsafe acts or conditions
Report HIPAA breaches if witnessed
Investigate security breaches
Conduct investigations
Write incident reports
Ensure all activities are logged
Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching
Keep the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action
Demonstrate professional and technical skills necessary for the role
Requirements:
High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
High School GED General Studies, upon hire and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service
or one (1) year experience as a security office
Security Guard: CA, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days
Nice to have:
Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred
