Security Officer

• Monitor buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security of employees, patients, and visitors
• Patrol property by walking and driving
• Guard facility and unit access points
• Monitor surveillance cameras
• Test new security technology
• Protect employees/visitors against acts of violence
• Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner
• Respond to calls for assistance (violent/unruly patients/visitors, crimes, emergency codes, door openings)
• Report unsafe acts or conditions
• Report HIPAA breaches if witnessed
• Investigate security breaches
• Conduct investigations
• Write incident reports
• Ensure all activities are logged
• Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching
• Keep the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action
• Demonstrate professional and technical skills necessary for the role

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
• High School GED General Studies, upon hire and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service
• or one (1) year experience as a security office
• Security Guard: CA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
• Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days

Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred
