As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Job Responsibility
Provide customer service to site personnel and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate airport and/or government authorities and completing required reports
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of terminals, curbside areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations
working environments and conditions may vary by assignment
Assist with access control by monitoring restricted-entry points, checking identification and/or credentials when assigned, and directing visitors to the appropriate areas
Monitor for irregular activity such as unattended items, suspicious behavior, and/or unauthorized access attempts, and communicate observations promptly via radio and/or telephone
Requirements
20+ Years of Age
Valid Drivers License
Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred
A guard card and/or license is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred
Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles
21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
