Security Officer NB

• Monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors
• Monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises
• Guard facility and unit access points, monitor surveillance cameras, test new security technology, and protect all employees/visitors against acts of violence
• Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner
• Protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance
• Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle
• Monitor security alarms and dispatch officers
• Report unsafe acts or conditions
• Report HIPAA breaches if witnessed
• Investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports
• Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers
• Keep the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action

• High School Graduate or GED and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service
• or One (1) year experience as a Security Officer
• Security Guard: CA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
• Familiar with duties and responsibility of being a security officer
• Able to properly use assigned equipment and follow established policies and procedures
• Maintain all other required training/certifications thereafter while employed by CommonSpirit Health
• Completes ICS 100, 200, 700 training courses within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally, and in writing
• Knowledgeable in the use of de-escalation techniques
