Job Description

As a Security Officer Customer Focused Patrol in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic education location where you will conduct routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Job Responsibility

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions according to site protocols
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, assist with access control procedures, and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel
  • Support a professional campus environment by answering questions, providing directions, and communicating clearly with students, staff, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience
  • Customer service experience is preferred
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
  • 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
