The Security Operations Center Officer oversees daily operations within the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) by triaging, escalating, and managing responses to all events impacting or threatening Teradyne personnel, property, or assets. The position is the first line response for all personnel on his/her respective shift.
Job Responsibility:
Follows established GSOC and Company policies and/or operating procedures
Remote monitoring of high value facilities and confidential information
Verify that all card access and CCTV monitoring devices are up and operating properly
Monitor and control removal of Teradyne property from site
Respond to emergency situations such as fires, chemical spills, employees requiring assistance, medical emergencies, unsafe conditions
Complete detailed pass on log entries for on coming shifts and management on a daily basis describing such variance from normal conditions as unresolved alarms, unauthorized building entry, thefts, vandalism, suspicious incidents, improper conduct, failures of equipment and utilities, employee accidents or issues, equipment malfunctions, network issues, or any other incident that is out of the ordinary and not routine in nature
Answer telephones and respond to employee requests for assistance during shifts, weekends, and holidays, and notify proper personnel as needed
Complete and submit Security Incident Reports as needed
Maintains an in depth knowledge of all GSOC policies and procedures
Comprehends and executes new operational technologies placed within the workspace
Triage incoming events and distribute information to the applicable escalation paths and distribution lists in an accurate, and timely fashion
Exercises independent judgment as necessary
Processes and maintains files, logs, reports, and forms (soft and hard copy)
Supports all department and company goals and objectives
Performs additional functions, duties and specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as necessary to achieve assigned business objectives
Provide support to traveling employees in case it is necessary, generating a report with information about the destination to be considered in case of a crisis or place with poor security
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English
Must have a High School Diploma as a minimum
Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation if needed
Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., mobile, phone, email)
Nice to have:
An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Police Science, Police Administration or Liberal Arts is preferred
Previous experience in law enforcement, global security is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of operations in a 24 x 7 international monitoring center, security operations and procedures
Excellent English oral and written communication skills required for preparing clear, concise, and grammatically correct materials/original correspondence and communicating information effectively to others
Maintains professional composure when dealing with unusual & potentially stressful circumstances
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Correctly interprets & responds to instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form
