The Security Manager plays a critical role in the success of Bear Hills Casino and is responsible for all aspects relating to the safety and security of our patrons, employees, and casino property. The primary purpose of this role is to manage security standards and ensure all policies and procedures are consistently maintained. The Security Manager demonstrates leadership and professionalism while upholding employer standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection.
Job Responsibility:
Adhere to all Bear Hills Casino policies and procedures
Consistently report to work on time and prepared
Act as a positive role model within and outside of the casino
Maintain a respectful and professional attitude
Communicate regularly with the General Manager regarding department matters
Ensure security standards meet or exceed casino and regulatory requirements
Supervise, train, mentor, evaluate, and provide feedback to security staff
Conduct investigations, determine findings, and liaise with management and police when required
Maintain building access and egress controls
Coordinate evacuation procedures and security initiatives
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies and provincial regulations
Participate in casino initiatives and leadership meetings
Manage department budget, scheduling, and expenditures
Hold regular staff meetings
Maintain strict confidentiality of all security-related information
Work with GameSense Representatives to ensure SE documents are updated and re-entries are reported to AGLC
Track and verify all employee gaming license registrations
Assist in internal investigations and manage all related documentation and evidence
Provide legal statements and attend court when required
Operate, maintain, and upgrade surveillance systems with monitoring partners
Ensure compliance with AGLC Terms & Conditions related to surveillance
Recommend surveillance upgrades in consultation with the General Manager
Train surveillance staff to independently operate systems
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in the security field
Criminal record check required prior to interview
Valid driver’s license and insurable under company policy
Must comply with all regulatory requirements, including: AGLC requirements, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, FINTRAC policies
Must sign an annual confidentiality agreement
Must pass AGLC due diligence following conditional offer
Nice to have:
Supervisory or customer service experience considered an asset
May be required to provide two letters of reference confirming management experience
