A minimum of five years of progressive work experience in a specific engineering discipline
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is required with a Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
Familiar with API Recommended Practices regarding Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes
Demonstrated proficiency with ASME Section I and Section VIII, B31.1 (boiler piping) and B31.3 (process piping), API 510, 570/571, 580/581, 650/653
Familiar with quantitative risk management tools and techniques
Familiar with all common methods of NDE used in the petrochemical industry
Intermediate knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts and ability to apply this knowledge analytically
Ability to coordinate all phases of a project

Job Responsibility

Develop, manage and participate in programs, methods, systems and practices for maintaining a safe work environment
Responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations
Perform duties in adherence with company procedures, standards, and specifications
Assist production and maintenance organizations throughout the plant in troubleshooting and repairs of rotating equipment
Monitor rotating equipment and make recommendations to improve reliability and reduce cost
Develop and review general and asset specific rotating equipment repair procedures
Provide training to production, maintenance, and technical departments in the proper operation and maintenance of rotating equipment
Develop and sponsor capital and expense projects to reduce overall plant risk and maintenance costs. Provide technical support throughout design and installation of projects
Assist training departments with development and review of operating procedures for rotating equipment
Maintain rotating equipment KPI’s and review for trends in equipment repairs. Develop plans to mitigate repeat rotating equipment failures

Emphasis on plant or refinery engineering, fixed equipment and/or mechanical integrity is required
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline is required
Technical expert in area of specialty
Advanced ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes and apply knowledge analytically
Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and commonly used engineering concepts and experience with engineering software
Familiarity with standards and practices of the specific discipline
Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations

Plans and leads engineering work by writing specifications, developing schedules and budgets, and identifying improvements to existing equipment, inspection practices, and mechanical integrity programs
Implements engineering solutions by monitoring performance, coordinating with Operations/Inspection/Maintenance, taking corrective actions, updating procedures and reports, and securing materials, supplies, and services
Completes projects by delivering final outputs, closing administrative requirements, and evaluating overall project performance, including lessons learned for future inspection, maintenance, and reliability work
Analyzes the economics of each project where appropriate
calculates ROI for proposed projects
Provides engineering documentation, mechanical integrity analysis, operating analysis, and recommendations for management
Supports mechanical integrity initiatives, including fixed equipment evaluations, repair plans, inspection scope development, and root-cause investigations
Develops and improves procedures for inspection, maintenance, and engineering tasks to enhance consistency, effectiveness, and compliance with applicable standards
Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams (Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Process) to prioritize and execute reliability and mechanical integrity improvements
