Job Description:

Join the Legal team to protect Barclays, its employees, and its brands while ensuring global competitiveness and compliance with legal standards. Your responsibilities will include risk mitigation, managing strategic transactions, and overseeing business contracts. As a Barclays Securitized Products CRE Attorney VP, you will be part of the Securitized Products Legal team in the Americas.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing primary legal support to businesses involved in various commercial real estate-backed transactions
  • Providing legal advice relating to offering materials, underwriting/purchase agreements, warehouse repurchase agreements, engagement letters, legal opinions and confidentiality agreements
  • Advising the Barclays transaction committees in the Americas
  • Advising the relevant businesses on regulatory developments and legal issues that arise relating to securitization/structured finance
  • Assisting the businesses in managing legal risks of the firm’s transactions and activities
  • Coordinating regularly with the Risk and Compliance departments
  • Development and implementation of best practice legal strategies
  • Legal advice and support to the business units
  • Subject matter support in legal proceedings
  • Creation and review of legal documents
  • Legal research and analysis
  • Developing and delivering training programmes
  • Pro-active identification, communication, and provision of legal advice

Requirements:

  • US securities and securitization legal expertise
  • Legal and regulatory risk management skills
  • Experience in relevant securitization coverage areas and Legal experience

Nice to have:

  • Thinking creatively and identifying innovative solutions
  • The ability to clearly articulate multi-layered concepts and ideas
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
