Job Description:

This entry-level position within Citi Belfast's Markets Operations team plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth functioning of securities and derivatives transactions. The Markets Operations Analyst will be responsible for supporting the processing of orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices, working closely with the Operations - Transaction Services team to ensure efficient clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop foundational expertise in financial operations within a dynamic global environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute and process securities and derivatives transactions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide analytical support to traders and assist in the review of derivative products
  • Contribute to the identification and resolution of securities and derivatives settlement issues, escalating as necessary
  • Support efforts to enhance operational procedures by providing insights and observations for process improvement
  • Analyze reports to satisfy management information requirements and support control activities
  • Assist in monitoring operations and identifying potential errors, contributing to solutions to minimize risk through understanding procedural requirements
  • Collaborate with various departments to escalate and resolve transaction processing issues
  • Generate reports in coordination with established standards and support ongoing control activities
  • Contribute to the successful launch of new products and services by assisting with operational readiness tasks
  • Ensure all processes adhere to established audit and control policies
  • Appropriately assess risk when supporting business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets
  • Support compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Citi policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and assisting in escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency

Requirements:

  • Foundational understanding of financial markets, particularly securities and derivatives
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of Treasury products, accounting principles, and relevant regulatory policies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced, high-risk operational environment
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
