The Sec & Derivatives Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position focusing on the critical function of new issuance closings for Debt and Equity Capital Markets. This role is integral to facilitating the smooth and efficient closing of new issuance syndicate deals, collaborating closely with trading desks, branch offices, and the Syndicate Operations team.
Job Responsibility:
Independently manage and execute the end-to-end syndicate process for new issuance closings with limited supervision, ensuring timely wire payments, security settlement, and security setup
Obtain and manage security identifiers from various agencies (e.g., CUSIP Bureau, Euroclear, Clearstream) and accurately set them up within the DTCC Portal
Interpret complex deal term sheets and prospectus language to ensure accurate processing and compliance
Set up FED wire payments efficiently and accurately
Analyze and resolve complex issues, applying in-depth knowledge of industry standards
Perform various hedge-related tasks, including calculating net asset value, reconciling cash and holdings, and pricing securities
Interface directly with Capital Markets desks and legal counsel to discuss and finalize the closing structure of syndicated offerings
Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and assist in the development of new techniques
Appropriately assess and mitigate risks in business decisions, demonstrating a strong commitment to the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup's assets
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhere to internal policies, and exercise sound ethical judgment
Promptly escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple issuances concurrently while consistently delivering high accuracy and execution quality
Requirements:
3-5 years of relevant experience in securities operations, capital markets, or a related financial services role
Proven ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating clarity and conciseness
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail
Understanding of capital markets products and processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Proficiency in financial systems and tools relevant to securities processing (e.g., DTCC, FED Wire)
Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
