Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers supporting the engineering modifications at all the Bombardier Service Centers
  • Participate in the integration of new employees
  • Ensure a good, positive and healthy working environment for the employees (communication, recognition, coaching, and career development plans/opportunities)
  • Ensure adequate engineering resources are allocated to the tasks to support modifications of products and in-service issue resolution for customers aircrafts
  • Evaluate the employee’s performance and make salary and career progression recommendations
  • Manage and resolve priority conflicts within own department and with internal customers
  • Be accountable for your group’s performance – deliver on-time, within budget and with quality to support the business objectives
  • Provide visibility on the execution, issues and escalations, as needed, to your Manager
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Develop or adapt tools and processes as needed by the function to meet our organizational objectives
  • Ensure adequate quality level for all deliverables produced
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training, on a regular basis, to enable employees reach their goals and deliverables
  • Participate in program, supplier and technical engineering reviews providing support and visibility to the team and management
  • Lead Daily Morning and Home Team Meetings
  • Oversee certification projects to ensure tasks are met according to schedule
  • Ensure measures are in place to organize and control the engineering tasks and the priorities, with appropriate levels of visibility to issues and risks and associated mitigation plan

Requirements:

  • You hold a university degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience working with multidisciplinary and technically complex integration in the Aerospace industry with at least three (3) years of supervisory /lead experience (preferred)
  • You have strong people manager and leadership qualities with an ability to mobilize and foster an environment of teamwork within cross-functional teams facilitating discussions and resolving issues to meet objectives
  • You have demonstrated leadership behaviors that support putting people first, work in teams, value teamwork, and drive for performance excellence while exhibiting a winning attitude
  • You have advanced computer skills with a knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word Excel, Project)
  • You are willing to travel and work outside of normal business hours on occasion
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus without formal authority
