Are you an organised, people-focused professional with a talent for leading and developing high-performing teams? We’re looking for a Secretarial Team Leader to join our leading Top 200 client. In this key role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality secretarial support across one or more teams, ensuring service standards are consistently met and continuously improved. You'll line manage secretarial staff, support fee earners, and play a vital role in maintaining an efficient and professional working environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver comprehensive and proactive secretarial support to assigned fee earners
  • Act as a key communication point between secretarial staff, Department Manager, and Secretary Co-ordinator
  • Monitor and enhance secretarial processes and working practices
  • Manage sickness absence and performance in line with company policies
  • Ensure appropriate support levels by monitoring workflow and managing holiday cover
  • Lead recruitment for new secretarial staff as required
  • Conduct formal reviews, setting SMART objectives aligned with team and firm priorities
  • Identify and coordinate individual and group training needs
  • Collaborate with Secretarial Co-ordinators and CMT Managers on wider departmental projects and initiatives
  • Work closely with the Department Manager to proactively address issues
  • Deputise for the Secretary Co-ordinator when needed
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Secretarial Team Leader in Legal is essential
