Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Secondary Support Assistants to work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role is the perfect foundation for future teachers, social workers, or educational psychologists who want to gain boots-on-the-ground experience in a fast-paced secondary environment. As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you are a vital link between the student and the curriculum.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead small breakout groups or 1:1 sessions for students needing extra support with literacy, numeracy, or specific subject coursework
  • Work alongside subject teachers to manage classroom dynamics and ensure students with additional needs (SEND) can access the lesson
  • Assist with emotional regulation and social skills, helping students navigate secondary school life
  • Act as a reader or scribe for students during mock exams and assessments

  • Relevant Experience (school, university tutoring, sports coaching, or volunteering with youth groups)
  • Proactive & Resilient
  • Committed (holds an enhanced DBS or willing to apply, dedicated to Safeguarding and student welfare)
