Job Description

Secondary Teaching Assistant | Academic & Pastoral Support | Local Secondary Schools. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £88.92 - £100 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. We are seeking dedicated Secondary Support Assistants to work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role is the perfect foundation for future teachers, social workers, or educational psychologists who want to gain boots-on-the-ground experience in a fast-paced secondary environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead small breakout groups or 1:1 sessions for students who need extra support
  • Work alongside subject teachers to manage classroom dynamics, ensuring students with additional needs can access the lesson
  • Assist with emotional regulation and social skills
  • Act as a reader or scribe for students during mock exams and assessments
  • Use academic strengths to help students grasp complex concepts and improve their GCSE prospects
  • Act as a positive role model

Requirements

  • Strong Communicator
  • Relevant Experience (e.g., school, university tutoring, sports coaching, or volunteering with youth groups)
  • Proactive & Resilient
  • Committed (holds an enhanced DBS or willing to apply, dedicated to Safeguarding and student welfare)
