Job Description

Secondary Teaching Assistants - Southport We are recruiting for dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across Southport. If you have the right attitude and a desire to help young people, we want to hear from you! Primary Focus: Southport, Ainsdale, Birkdale, and Churchtown. Postcodes: PR8 & PR9. We offer both day to day and long term supply with a competitive salary.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing the classroom and setting up learning materials before the bell
  • Delivering 1-to-1 support to keep students motivated and on-task
  • Explaining complex tasks in simpler ways to help students understand
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and focus during independent study
  • Recording student attendance and progress in the digital school log
  • Supervising students during break times and lesson changeovers
  • Helping the Teacher with classroom displays and essential admin tasks
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment for everyone

Requirements

  • Previous work in childcare, schools, youth coaching, or community volunteering is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
  • A genuine desire to help teenagers grow academically and socially
