Job Responsibility

  • Contribute to the evolution of a bespoke curriculum that bridges the gap between the National Curriculum and specialist SEND requirements
  • Lead on monitoring and reporting student outcomes, gaining high-level experience in EHC plan reviews, PEP, and LAC documentation
  • Maintain an expert-level awareness of current issues in the field of Autism (ASC) and SEMH, ensuring your pedagogy remains at the cutting edge of special education

  • Communication Access: Utilise the school's existing communication systems such as Makaton or visual timetables to ensure students feel secure and understood during a change in routine
  • Feedback & Reporting: Provide concise, helpful handovers for the returning class teacher, noting student engagement and any significant 'small-step' achievements
  • Safeguarding Vigilance: Maintain the highest standards of safety and safeguarding, following individual student risk assessments and school policies meticulously
