Job Description:

Step Teachers are looking for Secondary Supply Teachers in Stevenage and the surrounding areas to join our pool of supply staff to start as soon as possible. These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you’ll be supporting a range of schools in Stevenage and the surrounding areas, stepping into classrooms where your subject knowledge, adaptability, and classroom presence will help maintain continuity and inspire learning.

Job Responsibility:

Deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in your subject specialism
Follow school planning or adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote a positive learning environment
Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback where appropriate
Support pupils in developing subject knowledge, confidence, and transferable skills
Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure a smooth handover and consistent learning experience
Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching in secondary schools across Key Stages 3 and/or 4
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Adaptable and confident working across different subjects and year groups
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
