Job Description

Secondary SEND Teacher | Specialist Subject Lead | Local SEN Schools. Position: Full-Time or Part-Time, Flexible (Term Time Only). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Are you a dedicated educator passionate about bridging the gap between education and independence? Join our specialist network as a Secondary SEND Teacher and empower young people to navigate the transition into adulthood.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging lessons that translate academic concepts into real-world skills-budgeting, travel training, and workplace communication
  • Use total communication strategies (Makaton, PECS, or AAC) tailored to teenage learners
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language specialists to integrate therapeutic targets into a secondary-appropriate timetable
  • Manage a dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants, fostering a low-arousal and emotionally regulated environment for students with complex needs
