Job Description

SEN Secondary Teachers Required - Specialist Schools in Cambridge. Are you a qualified secondary teacher with a passion for inclusive education? Whether you are looking for the absolute flexibility of day-to-day supply or the stability and continuity of a long-term placement, we have rewarding opportunities tailored to your needs. We are recruiting dedicated SEN Secondary Teachers for daily and long-term roles at wonderful specialist schools, academy trusts, and alternative provisions across Cambridge and the surrounding area. • Lead a class group, adapt the secondary curriculum to meet specific sensory and cognitive levels, and build deeply meaningful relationships with pupils and their families

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching within an SEN setting, or a mainstream secondary teacher with a strong background in differentiation and a passion for transitioning into specialist sectors
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, utilising a calm, nurturing, and positive de-escalation approach
  • The ability to adapt secondary subject content to meet individual education plans (IEPs) and varying communication styles (such as PECS or Makaton, though not essential)
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)

  • A dedicated local consultant with expert knowledge of the Cambridgeshire specialist education sector
  • The chance to experience different local provisions-ideal if you are testing the waters of SEN teaching or looking for a future permanent contract
