Justteachers is currently recruiting for a nurturing and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in Warwick from September 2026. This full-time position involves working closely with young adults who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, providing 1:1 and small group support to help them re-engage with education and develop essential life skills. The ideal candidate will have a calm, supportive presence and a genuine passion for working with students who require emotional and behavioural support in a structured and understanding environment.
Job Responsibility
Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions focused on emotional regulation, social development, and academic engagement
Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their confidence, resilience, and independence
Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement personalised learning plans and behavioural strategies
Provide consistent, positive behaviour support and model appropriate communication and coping strategies
Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment for all students
Requirements
Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or within a specialist provision (highly desirable)
A calm, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable learners
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with consistency and understanding
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals
Two relevant references, ideally from an educational, care, or youth work background
