Job Description

A well-regarded international school in Madrid is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher (Biology preferred) to join the Secondary School team from August 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to teach across the secondary age range (11–18) and contribute to both IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes. The successful candidate will have the chance to inspire students, support high academic standards, and contribute to the development of a vibrant, collaborative science department.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons, primarily in Biology, following UK and IB curricula
  • Teach across Key Stages 3–5, including IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with curriculum and school expectations
  • Support curriculum development, departmental initiatives, and resources
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school through extracurricular or enrichment activities
  • Foster a supportive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • A degree in Biology or a closely related Science subject
  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Science at IGCSE and IB Diploma levels
  • Strong understanding of both British and international curricula
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A collaborative, flexible, and innovative approach to teaching
  • A passion for inspiring students and supporting academic excellence
