Job Description

We are seeking Qualified Physical Education Teachers (QTS/ECTs) to provide specialist cover across a variety of secondary schools. This role allows you to focus on the 'action' of teaching-leading drills, officiating games, and delivering theory-without the burden of departmental data tracking or weekend marking.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead practical sessions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Football, Rugby, Netball, Athletics, Gymnastics, Dance)
  • deliver engaging classroom-based lessons for GCSE PE or BTEC Sport
  • foster a positive attitude toward physical health
  • ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all abilities
  • facilitate high-energy practical lessons
  • support examination cohorts with targeted theory prep and practical moderation
  • maintain a disciplined and safe environment
  • differentiate coaching style to support SEND students or stretch elite athletes.

Requirements

  • Hold QTS
  • degree in Sports Science, PE, or a related field
  • solid grasp of the KS3/KS4 National Curriculum
  • can build rapport with teenagers quickly
  • passion for sport
  • enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
