This role allows you to focus on the "action" of teaching-leading drills, officiating games, and delivering theory-without the burden of departmental data tracking or weekend marking. Broad Curriculum Mastery: Lead practical sessions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering everything from team sports (Football, Rugby, Netball) to individual athletics, gymnastics, and dance. Theoretical Expertise: Deliver engaging classroom-based lessons for GCSE PE or BTEC Sport, helping students master anatomy, physiology, and sports psychology. Job Responsibility
Expert Lesson Delivery: Facilitate high-energy practical lessons that develop technical skill, tactical awareness, and sportsmanship
GCSE & BTEC Focus: Support examination cohorts with targeted theory prep and practical moderation, ensuring students meet the high standards required for their sports qualifications
Safety & Equipment Management: Maintain a disciplined and safe environment in the sports hall and on the fields, ensuring all students follow safety protocols and handle equipment with care
Adaptive Coaching: Differentiate your coaching style on the fly to support students with SEND or to stretch elite athletes who are aiming for high-level performance
Requirements
Hold QTS
You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification (ECTs are highly encouraged to apply)
are a PE Specialist
You have a degree in Sports Science, PE, or a related field, with a solid grasp of the KS3/KS4 National Curriculum
are an Engaging Role Model
You can build rapport with teenagers quickly and use your passion for sport to encourage participation and resilience
