Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Brighton in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Mainstream Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is a full-time permanent position supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a mainstream secondary school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support student learning, engagement, and wellbeing across a range of subjects.
Job Responsibility
Provide in-class support to students across KS3 and KS4 to help them access learning effectively
Support teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and learning resources
Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning objectives and encourage progress
Support students with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs where required
Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm and inclusive learning environment
Encourage student confidence, engagement, independence, and participation during lessons
Assist with monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Support classroom management in line with school policies and expectations
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and the wider school team
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote student wellbeing at all times.
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people, preferably within a secondary school setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting students
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Commitment to supporting student progress, wellbeing, and inclusion
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
