Requirements

PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent teaching qualification
Demonstrable ability to teach History and Geography to GCSE
Strong working knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND
In-depth understanding and experience of Autism and associated co-morbid conditions, and their impact on learning
Demonstrated knowledge of the National Curriculum framework
Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development
1+ year relevant teaching experience

Job Responsibility

Deliver outstanding teaching and learning in History and Geography to students with complex needs up to GCSE
Develop, implement, and assess tailored short, medium, and long-term lesson plans
Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets to track student progress
Maintain an up-to-date awareness of current best practices in Autism education
Manage challenging behaviours effectively, adhering to school policies
Contribute to ongoing curriculum development for pupils with SEND
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, reporting on student achievement
