As a core subject specialist, your expertise is vital. This role allows you to focus on the craft of teaching-leading debates on literature and sharpening writing skills-without the weight of endless essay marking or departmental data tracking. Core Curriculum Mastery: Lead lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering everything from Shakespeare and poetry to persuasive writing and spoken language. Your Role as an English Lead As a Secondary English Teacher, you are responsible for fostering a love for reading and helping students master the tools of effective communication. Expert Lesson Delivery: Facilitate engaging analysis of fiction and non-fiction, encouraging students to think critically about intent, context, and structural techniques. GCSE Focus: Support Year 11 students with targeted prep for English Language and Literature papers, focusing on essay structure, quote integration, and timing. Classroom Authority: Maintain a vibrant and respectful environment where students feel confident to share their interpretations and participate in class discussions. Adaptive Support: Differentiate tasks on the fly to support students with EAL or SEND, ensuring the curriculum is accessible and challenging for all.
