Temporary Secondary English Teacher | Key Stage 3 & 4. Are you a highly motivated and qualified Secondary English Teacher seeking a rewarding, fixed-term opportunity? We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our successful and forward-thinking secondary school. This full-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated professional ready to take ownership of their own classes and contribute fully to the departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). The core focus of this position is to plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, engaging English Language and Literature lessons. You will be responsible for a full timetable of classes, ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16. You will be expected to use formative and summative assessment strategies to effectively guide student learning and prepare pupils for GCSE excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Planning, preparation, and detailed marking
  • Contributing to the development of schemes of work

  • Undertaking a form tutor role
  • Actively participating in whole-school life and training

Requirements:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a closely related field
  • Possesses recent, demonstrable experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Exhibits excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Is passionate about literacy, literature, and communication, and is committed to raising student attainment
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements
  • Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
