Job Description:

English teacher needed in Suzhou, China, starting August 2026. Future Head of Department potential! Teacher of English with Potential for Head of English. We are seeking a skilful, caring, and innovative Teacher of English to join a collaborative department within an International High School Programme in Suzhou. This role focuses on developing the English language capabilities of students from diverse backgrounds, preparing them for success in global universities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver English courses across Years 10-13, including IGCSE/A-Level qualifications (EFL and ESL), and internal academic English courses designed to support progress in all subjects
  • Utilise emerging educational technology and evidence-based pedagogy to enhance learning and ensure effective student progress for external examinations
  • Participate actively in collaborative curriculum planning and continued professional development (CPD)
  • Potential for Head of English role

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified
  • Capability to deliver English knowledge up to A2-Level
  • Experienced in or willing to learn how to effectively differentiate and teach within an EAL environment
  • Enthusiastic about inspiring students
  • Ability to maintain the highest expectations for student achievement and behaviour
  • Committed to student well-being
  • Eager to work with a diverse faculty and engage in furthering their own pedagogical knowledge
