Temporary Secondary English Teacher | Key Stage 3 & 4. Location: Plymouth. Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (Fixed-Term). Salary: Paid to Scale (MPS/UPS) for full-responsibilities roles | £130-£160 per day for no-planning options. Are you a highly motivated and qualified Secondary English Teacher seeking a rewarding, fixed-term opportunity? We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Plymouth. This full-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated English professional ready to contribute fully to departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). The core focus of this position is to deliver high-quality, engaging English Language and Literature lessons. We have flexibility depending on your preference: roles that include full planning and preparation are paid strictly to your scale, while positions with zero planning or prep responsibilities are paid at a flat daily rate. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16 as they develop their literacy, analytical, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • relevant degree in English (or a closely related field)
  • recent, demonstrable experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for English
