We are seeking dedicated Behavioural Mentors to work with students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Years 7-11). This role is perfect for those who want to make a tangible difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or those who display challenging behaviour.
Job Responsibility
Act as a stabiliser in the classroom, helping students regulate their emotions and remain engaged in their education
Use low-level de-escalation techniques to prevent classroom disruptions and keep students on task
Work closely with specific students to build rapport, improve their social skills, and boost their self-esteem through structured intervention
Assist the school's Inclusion or 'Bridge' unit, providing a safe space for students who find the mainstream classroom environment overwhelming
Work alongside the SENCO and Pastoral Leads to implement individual behaviour plans (IBPs) and ensure a consistent approach to student welfare
Requirements
Are naturally resilient
have relevant experience from a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), youth work, sports coaching, residential care, or a background in psychology or the police/military
