Job Description:

We are seeking a Second Line Operations Engineer to manage Fixed Networks in a multi-vendor environment. This role focuses on preventive and corrective troubleshooting to ensure service quality and continuity, while minimising restoration time for Fixed and Transport Network Elements. You will collaborate with 1st Line Operations teams, develop alarm analysis procedures, and support integration activities alongside planning and delivery functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair actions during incidents, including vendor escalation, to restore Access Network services promptly
  • Perform proactive maintenance to prevent incidents and optimise network performance, addressing capacity issues through trend analysis
  • Execute planned activities such as network rollout, software upgrades, and parameter changes, ensuring service quality and avoiding regressions
  • Manage and implement automation initiatives using scripts or programming languages
  • Carry out acceptance testing and integration/configuration of new fixed network elements

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology
  • 1–2 years of experience in Fixed/IP/Transmission Network Operations and Maintenance
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols: DOCSIS 2.0, 3.0 & 3.1, CCAP, IP (Routing, Switching), QoS, and equivalent CCNA-level knowledge
  • Good knowledge of HFC network design principles
  • Familiarity with fixed access technologies (DOCSIS, FTTH) and IP networking
  • Basic scripting knowledge
