Join Our Team at West Wollongong Fun Club - Second in Charge. Permanent, Part‑Time role (32.5 hours per week) at an OSHC service located at West Wollongong Public School. This is an opportunity to make a child’s world a better, brighter place in a child-first organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide quality care and education to school-aged children
  • Incorporate your ideas and expertise to create a fun-filled environment
  • Build respectful, long-lasting relationships with parents, carers, and fellow educators
  • Contribute your own ideas and experiences to the programmed activities
  • Ensure the service complies with Big Fat Smile policies and procedures, as well as all components of the National Quality Framework and Child Protection Legislation
  • Work closely with your Director

Requirements:

  • A cleared and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) for paid work
  • Diploma of Children’s Services or a related qualification (desirable)
  • Experience as a support worker, SLSO, OSHC Educator/2IC, or other roles working with school-aged children
  • Outstanding communication skills with families and the community
  • Demonstrated commitment to work health and safety

  • Have outpatient clinics, including neonatal follow up and general paediatrics on non-service weeks
  • Support perinatal governance, quality improvement, research and education across our perinatal services during SPA time
  • Participation in out of hours consultant cover for the neonatal unit on a rota (Approximately 1:8 weekdays, 1:8 weekends)
  • Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care
  • Provide critical care skills and support for stabilisation of critically unwell babies (under 3 months of age) prior to retrieval
