Job Description

Colleen McAuliffe from Robert Half is seeking a SEC Manager who can own the filings process. The role is hybrid with 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. Client will only consider candidates local to the San Francisco / Silicon Valley area.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate and support the preparation of periodic filings with regulatory authorities, including quarterly and annual reports, current event filings, ownership forms, and proxy-related documentation
  • Draft and review financial statement disclosures, including footnotes and MD& A content, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with reporting standards
  • Manage detailed financial statement tie-outs, disclosure checklists, and supporting documentation to ensure consistency across internal and external reports
  • Oversee structured data tagging requirements associated with public filings and validate the completeness and accuracy of digital reporting elements
  • Contribute to the evaluation and documentation of complex or non-routine accounting matters
  • Prepare and review lease accounting schedules and related entries, including coordination across domestic and international operations
  • Support quarterly representation processes and internal certification procedures
  • Assist in compiling materials for executive leadership and board-level reporting, including audit committee presentations
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, analyses, and requested documentation
  • Perform account reconciliations and review selected transactional processes as part of ongoing financial close responsibilities
  • Maintain supporting logs and documentation related to contractual reporting requirements
  • Participate in special projects, process improvements, and other analytical initiatives as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to reinforce compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and reporting best practices

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience supporting financial reporting within a publicly traded environment
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and public company reporting requirements
  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting platforms and structured data filing tools (experience with leading cloud-based reporting systems preferred)
  • Ability to independently manage quarterly and annual reporting timelines
  • Solid understanding of digital reporting requirements and tagging concepts
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with common business software applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical capabilities
  • CPA
  • Experience with Workiva and owning the process
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
