Job Description:

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is currently seeking a Seasonal Rural Striping Technician in Laramie, Wyoming. This position will assist the traffic department in striping operations for the district.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist traffic crews with general maintenance operations
  • Follow the striping crew with an attenuator truck to supply paint and beads
  • Travel throughout Southeast Wyoming with traffic crews
  • Subject to a 24-hour call-out in the event of an emergency

Requirements:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements prior to employment
  • Experience in road construction, maintenance, and equipment operations
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of and use of power tools and tape measures
  • Knowledge of Federal and State requirements for proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials Response Procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds independently
  • Ability to stand/sit and operate equipment for long periods
  • Ability to walk long periods on even and uneven ground
  • Must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License within 30 days
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Certification to operate specified equipment as directed by WYDOT
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Certificate of course completion of Defensive Driving
  • Must have the ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certification
