LPN or Registered Nurse
PN or AS degree in nursing required
AHA or Red Cross CPR/AED certification
Experience practicing nursing within an occupational health or emergency room setting
Strong written and oral communication skills
Sound judgment and ability to manage crisis situations
Knowledge of state Worker's Compensation law, OSHA requirements and other occupational health regulations
Additional certification in areas such as spirometry, audiometry and/or drug test collection may be required
Computer proficiency in word and excel

Job Responsibility

Implements Medical Department operations - including but not limited to assessment, treatment, referral and recording of occupational and emergent non-occupational injuries/illnesses
Perform medical surveillance and licensing exams, such as pre-employment, fitness for duty, powered industrial equipment, DOT physicals and OSHA required exams
Administering the policies of the occupational medical program consistent with the company's general policies concerning health services
Utilizing the necessary equipment and supplies necessary to achieve the objectives of the Medical Department and operate within budget guidelines
Administering the plant's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
Partnering with professional health resources and department supervision to place injured workers into modified/light duty assignments which meet their physical capabilities and promote rehabilitation
Interacting with on-site and community physicians, nurses and physical therapists to promote employee health and wellness
Stay updated on knowledge of federal, state and local laws/regulations and other best practices applicable to occupational health
Collaborates with Safety Team and Risk Management by participating in Global Safety & Health Audit process, and instructing employees in ergonomic and safety education
Implements company provided wellness programs and additionally employee health and wellness programs addressing the unique health risks and demographics of the site
