Job Description:

Capital City Club Culinary Department is looking to hire an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team-focused individual for a Seasonal Pastry Chef. The ideal individual is creative, career-oriented, well organized, works with cleanliness and sanitation procedures, and excels in a team environment. The operation is considered high volume/fine dining with different styles of culinary operations available for development. Our Pastry Kitchen is a great environment for creative freedom and growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef and/or Executive Chef to consistently maintain quality output from the pastry department
  • Assists in the development of the pastry menu
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of the pastry menu and attention to detail with plate presentation
  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in maintaining and updating recipe book(s), and determining parts needed for the week
  • Proper execution of recipes and understanding of culinary techniques
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage stress

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, or hotel (high volume preferred)
  • Food handling and safety knowledge
  • Knife and measuring skills
  • manual dexterity and speed
  • Ability to prepare and follow recipes
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of pastry fundamentals
