Wyoming State Parks is seeking seasonal interpretive rangers for the summer of 2026. Interpretive rangers are our front-line staff who engage and enlighten visitors about a site's natural and cultural resources. The employment season is from May 15th to September 15th, working 40 hours per week.
Job Responsibility:
Present programs, guided hikes, hands-on activities, school tours, campouts, and other personal interpretation
Assist with special projects and events
Assist in creating social media, outreach, and other non-personal content
Responsible for administering, restocking, tracking program inventory, and helping care for equipment and supplies
Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service
Answer visitors' questions about facilities and local points of interest
Provide both natural and cultural interpretation for multiple sites
Assist with general administrative duties, reports, and data entry
Perform opening and closing duties, janitorial services, and maintenance as needed
May be required to assist with cleaning or feeding/watering live animal exhibits
Work with colleagues from other agencies, community organizations, etc.
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 16 years of age
Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in completing assignments/tasks
Ability and willingness to provide excellent customer service for a diverse and international visitor base
Willingness to work on a variety of assignments every day
Must possess excellent customer service skills
Ability to manage and complete multiple projects with variable timelines and scopes of work
Basic safety awareness around work areas and equipment

Preference may be given to applicants who can provide excellent customer service and exemplary professionalism
