We are looking for an experienced SEO/SEM specialist to join a healthcare organization in Irvine, California on a contract basis. This position will work closely with web, development, and content partners to improve organic visibility, strengthen technical search performance, and guide content strategy in a complex digital environment. The role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and can turn search insights into measurable business outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end-to-end search engine optimization initiatives, translating strategy into practical execution across technical, content, and on-page improvements
  • Enhance visibility in emerging AI-driven search experiences by refining page structures, content signals, and optimization tactics that support discoverability
  • Implement and expand structured data across large sets of templated pages, ensuring accurate schema usage for key page types and improved search understanding
  • Revise and optimize program and landing pages by aligning content with user intent, improving page architecture, and strengthening metadata and internal linking
  • Integrate SEO best practices into ongoing publishing workflows so that new and updated content is built with search performance in mind from the start
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to consolidate recommendations, prioritize initiatives, and drive consistent execution
  • Partner with web and development teams to support site changes, including migration-related SEO planning such as redirects, indexing controls, and preservation of organic performance
  • Track results using analytics and search tools, then present clear recommendations based on traffic trends, rankings, technical findings, and content performance

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in SEO execution, including technical optimization, on-page improvements, and structured data implementation
  • Strong knowledge of schema markup and the ability to deploy structured data effectively across scalable page templates
  • Proven background in writing, editing, or substantially optimizing digital content to align with search intent and improve organic visibility
  • Experience working with WordPress and/or Drupal, with a solid understanding of how CMS platforms impact SEO performance
  • Familiarity with website migration support, including redirect planning, index management, and safeguarding search equity during platform changes
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and enterprise SEO platforms like SEMrush or BrightEdge
  • Ability to work effectively in large, regulated, or highly complex environments such as healthcare, pharma, financial services, eCommerce, travel, or similar industries
  • Must be local to Irvine, California or willing to work onsite as required
What we offer:
  • medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance
  • enrollment in company 401(k) plan
