Job Description

The Search Engine Marketing Intern will be asked to handle any of a variety of duties; with the main focus being the management of marketing campaigns for domestic and global brands. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: paid search marketing thru search engines, paid campaigns and postings through social media, email marketing, search optimization, and market analysis. While not required, experience using marketing tools, such as website analytics platforms, and search and social ad manager platforms, is preferred. The Intern must realize the value of great organization skills, creativity, detailed tracking and follow-up to become successful in this position. This position will involve supporting the sales team with hosted website sales by providing guidance and recommendations for digital marketing of premium hosted websites. This will include conference calls and visit with sales staff and customers of Sandhills. The analyst will be responsible for creating ads and audiences to meet business objectives, maintaining campaigns, measuring success, and clearly communicating outcomes to coworkers and management. The ability to work under deadlines and as part of a team is necessary; along with flexibility to take appropriate action when emergencies arise. This specialist will be responsible for social media and/or email marketing, data analysis and report building using Google Analytics, and general market analysis. An ideal candidate would have general marketing experience, specifically in social media and email marketing, and would be fluent using with any or all of the following applications: Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google Search Console, an email marketing or marketing automation platform, and Facebook Ads Manager. Assume other duties as assigned.This internship is paid at $18/hour!

  • Obsess over data. You will analyze performance metrics from internal database tools, third party systems, APIs, and data feeds to drive growth in profit
  • Monitor and report on daily SEM portfolio performance using our in-house SEM systems and conduct analysis and investigations using Excel, Tableau, and SQL
  • Create a roadmap for continual innovative testing to drive growth and ongoing optimization to drive efficiencies and achieve performance targets
  • Conduct tests on SEM best practices including Portfolio Expansions, Traffic Curation, Ad Copy Testing
  • Evaluate test results using Excel & Stat Sig calculators to determine if the results meet success criteria and if they are statistically significant
  • Think big picture, you will prepare, analyze and communicate performance metrics for completed projects to the team and key stakeholders across the business
