Our client, a well-established and expanding freight forwarding and customs clearance business based in North Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Sea Freight Forwarder to join their growing import and export operations team. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating international sea freight shipments while ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and client requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, managing the end-to-end shipment process
  • Coordinating import and export sea freight operations
  • Liaising closely with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, and customs authorities
  • Processing import and export customs declarations via CDS
  • Ensuring full compliance with customs procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with internal departments to maintain seamless operational flow
  • Providing clear, timely, and professional communication to clients
  • Proactively resolving shipment queries or issues to maintain high service standards

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a sea freight forwarding role (import/export experience desirable)
  • Strong understanding of customs procedures and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT proficiency, with the ability to navigate various systems confidently
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

  • Daily cooperation with the company's operational departments, Astra's international offices, and other AsstrA’s divisions
