As an SDET [Backend] at Aspora, you’ll own the quality strategy, reliability benchmarks, and automation frameworks behind our banking, payments, and core financial systems. You’ll work closely with backend engineers, SREs, mobile SDETs, and product teams to ensure every release is robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant. This role is highly impactful. You’ll shape how we test distributed systems, validate data integrity, and future-proof our platform for scale.
Job Responsibility:
Build and scale automation frameworks for REST APIs, microservices, event streams, and backend workflows
Define and execute E2E test strategies across APIs, message queues, cron jobs, and data pipelines
Develop test utilities, mocks, and stubs for upstream/downstream services and external integrations
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) for continuous feedback loops
Implement contract and data-driven testing to ensure backward compatibility and schema integrity
Run non-functional tests (performance, chaos, resiliency) to validate backend stability under scale
Use observability platforms (Coralogix, Grafana, Kibana) to detect regressions and enforce SLAs
Partner with engineering to define quality metrics, perform RCA on incidents, and prevent future failures
Enhance frameworks using AI-driven techniques for dynamic test coverage, flakiness detection, and test optimization
Requirements:
4–7 years in SDET/QA roles focused on backend platforms and distributed systems
Strong programming proficiency in Java or Python with solid grounding in OOP and clean code
Hands-on experience with REST Assured, TestNG, or custom backend test frameworks
Strong understanding of API contracts, async workflows (queues, pub/sub), and event-driven systems
Experience integrating test suites within CI/CD pipelines and managing staging/test environments
Proficient in debugging using API gateways, logs, and observability tools like Grafana/Kibana/Coralogix
Exposure to performance/load testing using JMeter, Locust, or K6
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ, and AWS/cloud-native ecosystems
Clear communication, strong analytical thinking, and ability to work in cross-functional engineering squads
Nice to have:
Experience working in high-availability, transaction-heavy systems (fintech/payments)
Exposure to chaos engineering or resilience testing
Contributions to testing frameworks or open-source tools
Prior experience in fast-paced startups
What we offer:
