Join the AI Platform team as a Software Engineer (L62) in Brazil, building and scaling the API layer for OpenAI models. Work with top engineers globally on cutting-edge AI services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain core API services (Response API, Completion API, Content Moderation Proxy, MCP, Code Interpreter)
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize distributed services running in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Collaborate with engineers across Japan, US, and Brazil to deliver reliable, scalable AI solutions
  • Implement robust logging and monitoring for production-grade systems
  • Leverage AI tools for coding, automation, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and supporting high-availability cloud services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have:

  • 2+ years of experience developing production software in Python and/or C#
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, debugging, and logging in distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration (preferably AKS)
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for coding and problem-solving
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with OpenAI models and APIs
  • Exposure to content moderation, code execution, or image/video processing services
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional engineering teams
