Job Description:

Join Barclays as a Scrum Master. You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. You will act as a servant leader and facilitator, ensuring Agile principles are embedded across technical and functional workflows. This role requires strong technical awareness of API/ Spring boot Java deliveries & the release process. The Scrum Master will enable team efficiency, remove impediments, and foster continuous improvement along with managing tech delivery of the feature team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Facilitate Events: Facilitate events, as needed, and ensure that all events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox
  • Support Iteration Execution: Ensure quality of ceremony artefacts and continuous customer value through iteration execution, maintain backlog refinement, and iterate on stakeholder feedback
  • Optimize Flow: Identify and facilitate the removal of conflict impacting team flow, utilizing metrics to empower the team to communicate effectively, making all work visible
  • Mitigate Risks: Identify and escalate risks to remove impediments and shield the Squad from interruptions
  • Build High-Performing Teams: Foster and coach Agile Team attributes and continuous improvement, encourage stakeholder collaboration, deputise ‘in the moment leadership’, and drive high-performing team attributes
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate stakeholder collaboration (e.g., business stakeholders, product teams, vendors) and build trust with stakeholders
  • Governance and Reporting: Ensure data quality and provide representation at required governance forums, if applicable

Requirements:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Technical awareness of authentication systems, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Awareness of data and writing SQL/ JQL queries
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Act as Technical Delivery Managers for release readiness
  • Support integration testing and quality assurance by coordinating with SDETs and developers
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Maintain backlog health in collaboration with Product Owner and Tech Leads
  • Represent the team in governance forums, providing updates on risks, dependencies, and progress

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in Spring boot or Android or iOS focused Agile teams
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and release management coordination
