Under limited supervision, the Scrum Master II is responsible for guiding Motion's software development teams through Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) best practices and principles, and ensuring the agreed Agile process is followed consistently across teams. Operating within Motion's Agile Release Trains (ARTs), this role creates, defines, and fosters an environment of transparency and continuous improvement, helping Agile teams achieve their KPIs, increase speed and agility, and enhance overall outcomes and quality. This role applies industry best practices and relevant metrics/KPIs and implements standards and procedures to optimize and accelerate software delivery across scrum teams. You must be eligible to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship.
Job Responsibility
Plans and manages the development and implementation of Motion's products and services using Agile/SAFe delivery practices for work of larger scope whose outcome may impact the broader organization
Focuses the Agile team on delivering planned value and meeting PI Objectives
Prepares teams for and actively participates in PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt events within a Scaled Agile (SAFe) Agile Release Train
Facilitates team events, including the daily stand-up, iteration planning, iteration review, iteration retrospective, and other Agile ceremonies, for both co-located and distributed/remote teams
Guides the team in establishing normalized estimates, and coaches the team in estimating and forecasting features and capabilities
Partners with Product Owners and business stakeholders in managing the backlog and guiding the team, while facilitating a healthy team dynamic concerning priorities, sustainability, and scope
Tracks and reports team flow, predictability, and quality metrics using Azure DevOps (or comparable ALM tooling)
uses data to drive retrospective actions and continuous improvement
Coordinates and addresses external and internal requests to the development team
represents the team in Scrum of Scrums and ART sync events
Adapts existing scrum policies with independent judgment to ensure quality and timeliness
Mentors Scrum Master I peers and contributes to Scrum Master community-of-practice development
Develops a deep understanding of Agile and SAFe principles and exercises judgment in applying defined processes and practices

Requirements
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in a scaled Agile environment (SAFe or comparable) strongly preferred
Strong skills in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Knowledge of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach
Strong relationship-building skills with technical teams, Product Owners, and business stakeholders
In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including PI cadence, ART events, and lean-agile principles
Working knowledge of Agile lifecycle management tooling (Azure DevOps preferred) and team-level flow, predictability, and quality metrics
Strong presentation skills
Experience leading or mentoring other scrum masters (e.g., Scrum of Scrums, community of practice) preferred
Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies for distributed/remote teams
Experience communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
