Amentum is searching for a Top-Secret cleared Scrum Master to join our team in Washington, DC. You will be working in an organization that’s mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The entire section leverages agile and works to provide enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities to facilitate task management, cross-utilization, and address national intelligence priorities while protecting confidential data and sources. The Scrum Master is a part of a team that will lead large-scale data analysis projects to design and deliver on premises and cloud-based applications. The Scrum Master is responsible for supporting the team in applying Agile principles and Scrum practices to deliver high‑quality work efficiently. They will help remove obstacles, foster collaboration, and ensure that the team maintains a clear, shared understanding of goals, priorities, and progress. They will help create an environment where the team can focus, adapt, and consistently deliver value to deliver smoother workflows, stronger team communication, and incremental improvements that contribute to predictable delivery and higher customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for the execution of Scrum methodologies for product lifecycle
Guide teams in the Agile methodology, supports team rules, facilitates product team's progress toward team goals, leads, facilitates meetings, eliminates blockers, promotes Agile quality practices, builds a high performing team, coordinates with other teams, supports ROM and level of estimate activities and provides team with feedback and means of improvement while serving as a resource to answer questions
Lead regular agile sessions to encourage collaboration, transparency, and innovation such as team scrums, sprint planning, user demonstrations
Advise government personnel on incremental changes that could lead to continuous improvement in products, services, and/or standardization of processes
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience collectively as a Developer, Business Analyst, and/or Requirements Analyst or past experience as a SCRUM Master role in an Agile environment
Using requirements management tools such as JIRA, TFS, etc.
Organizing and facilitating Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives
Identifying and removing obstacles or impediments that hinder the team's progress
Assisting the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, refining user stories, and prioritizing backlog items
Facilitating communication between the Product Owner and the development team to ensure alignment on product goals and priorities
Providing guidance and support to team members on Agile practices, collaboration techniques, and problem-solving strategies
Troubleshooting and problem solving
Agile/Scrum/Kanban/SAFe certification required
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field. In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements
