Citi’s Finance Division is comprised of various global functions, including Corporate Strategy and M&A, Treasury, Controllers, Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as dedicated groups supporting each of our business segments. The Finance Division is the guardian and communicator of key financial information and controls. As a partner with Citi’s various businesses and functions, Citi Finance drives business franchise and legal entity decisions on capital planning, liquidity, budgeting, tax, strategic direction and policy management. Citi’s Corporate Strategy and M&A function, serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership to address high impact strategic issues across Citi’s businesses and functions. The team works in close partnership with business heads and senior leadership to identify opportunities and issues of strategic importance, develop transformational strategies to achieve business mandates, drive change by partnering with business leadership, and provide clarity in complex problems to facilitate decision-making. The Executives Scorecards team sits within the Corporate Strategy and M&A function. The Citi Executive Scorecards team is responsible for establishing global standards for key performance metrics and ensuring consistent usage and reporting across planning, review, and performance management processes. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a globally robust, consistent, and efficient controls framework. Additionally, the candidate will be providing direction and management oversight for the Citi Executive Scorecards team. The candidate will lead strategic initiatives to improve, automate, and standardize the production environment. And will ultimately be responsible for the quality of the operational processes that underly the production of Executive Scorecards. Successful candidates will have excellent stakeholder management skills, experience maintaining a strong control environment and have strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the workstream responsible for the improvement of production, review and correspondence of metrics across the spectrum of Executive Scorecards
Responsible for overseeing and prioritizing the portfolio of projects geared towards strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of controls environment (i.e., re-engineering)
Enhance the existing controls framework by identifying gaps, perform root cause analysis and driving technology and process solutions towards remediation
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Delivering thought leadership and supporting the implementation of changes necessary to enhance Citi’s Executive Scorecard production processes and satisfy evolving senior management and board of directors’ requests
Developing a strong working relationship with stakeholders across the organization in support of their individual responsibilities and in support of creating a holistic framework in which the firm executes its strategic priorities
Managing a team of several professionals interacting with members across multiple locations on a daily basis
Requirements:
Exceptional communication skills, including well-developed verbal, written and presentation skills
Strong background in accounting, financial analysis or internal audit, with demonstrated understanding of substantive reviews and internal controls
Creative skills necessary to craft persuasive, well-researched narratives for senior consumption
Aptitude for translating strategy into execution in a complex and cross-functional organization
Strong attention to detail with proven ability to distil complex ideas into simple stories
Previous experience(s) in Finance functions is preferred
Understanding of capital markets, retail banking and/or institutional banking is a must
Minimum 15 years of proven experience in driving results with a strong understanding of the financial services industry
Strong business instincts and ability to apply independent judgment to historical business practices, with a proven ability and willingness to challenge the status quo
A self-starter with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently
Ability to gain consensus and agreement across disparate functions, products and geographies
Must have ability to stay ahead in a constantly changing environment
An undergraduate degree is required, including BE / CA
