Job Description:

We are seeking a molecular and cell biologist to join our team as a temporary associate. This team member will be responsible for maintaining cell lines, and participate in qPCR assay development, which includes testing and method validation. The team member may be responsible for the receipt and logging of clinical samples, coupled with DNA and protein purification and characterization. They must have experience working under BSL2 conditions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Adherence to all laboratory SOPs, including BSL2 procedures
  • Accurate and comprehensive documentation in LIMS/QA systems (GLP environment)
  • Mammalian cell culture
  • DNA and protein purification and characterization
  • Set-up and analysis of bisulfite conversion experiments
  • Set-up and analysis of qPCR assays
  • Handling of human clinical samples

Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field
  • 2+ year experience in cell/molecular biology laboratory environment (university or industry)
  • Prior experience in BSL2 environment required
  • Demonstrated expertise in cell culture
  • DNA isolation and QC required
  • Excellent attention to detail with an understanding of laboratory practices required
  • Learning agility and timely execution of tasks required

Nice to have:

  • Experience running qPCR assays preferred
  • Experience developing qPCR assays preferred
  • Comfort with troubleshooting qPCR assays preferred
  • Experience implementing epigenetic assays preferred
  • Experience with cancer diagnostics and related biomarkers preferred
